Postal Apps was founded in August 2020 by our CEO Shane Davies - a Perth-born IT expert with more than 20 years in the IT industry.
Our Story
Believing that there should be more apps accessible to people who are vision impaired, he began to conceptualise ‘Weather Map’ after the closing of a popular weather app. Shane solely launched the ‘Weather Map’ app in May 2021 with the help of a boutique developer using his own funds and is determined to create more experience-centred apps in Australia.
Our Goal
User experience is everything, and we believe that all Australians should have the best app experience without any visual frustrations. ​ Postal Apps mission is to remove visual fatigue in all our apps. Starting with ‘Weather Map’, we strived to design the best weather app by providing many features that make your viewing less frustrating, like removing advertising and offering better contrast.

Postal Apps is proudly Aussie made from inception to operation, and we are passionate in our pursuit of employing local Aussies in all our core functions.
Weather Map data is sourced directly from the Bureau of Meteorology, as we believe that using a trusted Australian weather agency for our weather data is the way to go. We want to continue supporting the Australian people and economy with all our apps.
